FAQs For Venturing

ARE Ladies allowed to join?
YES.
Both male and female are allowed to join Venturing in Shadow.
WHAT is the age range for Venture Scouts?
The age range accepted for Ventures is between 15 to 18 (there
will be case by case review for each interested applicant's). However,
if you are an existing Boy Scout from one of our Shadow Unit, you
will be a Venture at the age of 16. The reason for accepting at the
age 15 is to allow him/her to have a year's lead time to catch up
on Scouting skills so that by 16, he/she can more or less leveled
up with his/her peers of the same age.
WHAT if I am still a member of a CCA Uniformed Group/Club at my own
school?
We try our very best to have our Venture activites scheduled in the
afternoon for the convenience of our members like you who are actively
involved in your school's CCA programme. However, there might be a
possibliity that some activites/meetings/camps will clash with your
own school's interest.
WHAT are some of your activities?
Beside providing service to either one of our three Scout Units and
working for progressive awards/personal development, our ventures
get to attend camps, kayaking, cooking, hiking, night cycling, building
structures and many other fun-filled activities.

ARE Ladies allowed to join?
YES.
Both male and female are allowed to join Rovering in Shadow.
WHAT is the age range for Rover Scouts?
The
age range accepted for Rovers is between 19 to 26.
SINCE I am a young adult, do I need to wear the Scout Uniform?
YES. But we hope this will not be the reason for you not be interested
in Rovering. We are afterall a Uniformed Organisation as compared
to a social club.
WILL I be awarded any CCA/Activites/Community Service Points if I
am still studying at a Tertiary Institution (ie. ITE, Polytechnic
or University)?
We are ready to acknowledge your participation in our activites to
your Institution, provided if you are an active member.
WHAT are some of your activities?
You may choose to provide service to one of our Scout or Venture Unit.
Besides that, our Rovers get to attend camps, kayaking, night cycling,
mountain trekking, community service and many other fun-filled activities.
